30-minute private gondola ride in Venice

Experience an exclusive and romantic 30-minute private gondola ride on the canals of Venice.
Discover the city from the water, as it was meant to be seen. See picturesque canals and enchanting Venetian architecture and share the ride with a loved one.

It is estimated that there were 8-10 thousand gondolas operating on the canals of Venice during the 17th and 18th centuries. Today, there are just 400 that are still in active service. Do not miss this opportunity to experience Venice from one of these icons on a private 30-minute ride.

Although most of the gondolas are used for touristic purposes, you’ll be fascinated by the strong bond they continue to have with the history of Venice.

Learn how each part of the boat has symbolic meanings. For example, the ferro or prow has 5 or 6 pettini (prongs) to symbolize the city’s sestieri (districts). Made of iron to balance the weight of the gondolier, the S shape evokes the flow of “Canal Grande”.

La Fenice Theatre guided visit

Built in 1792 in Neoclassical style following a competitive public exam won by one of Canova’s friend, Giannantonio Selva, the theatre was at the time one of the many private theatres for theatrical and opera performing.

In December 1836 a big fire destroyed the inside structure that was rebuilt one year later just like a mythical bird rebirthing from the ashes.

In the 19th century, the theatre staged world premieres of numerous operas including Rossini’s Tancredi, Sigismondo and Semiramide, Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi (The Capulets and the Montagues) and Beatrice di Tenda, Donizetti’s Belisario (Belisarius), Pia de’ Tolomei, Maria de Rudenz, Verdi’s Ernani, Attila, Rigoletto, La traviata and Simon Boccanegra.

With a seating capacity for over 1,000 people, the Fenice boasts excellent acoustics (which were improved when the theatre was rebuilt after the devastating fire of 1996), a 98-member orchestra and 66-person opera chorus, a dedicated local audience and a large international following. The theatre is a leading creative venue, staging more than one hundred opera performances per year, a major symphonic season conducted by prominent conductors from across the globe, the full cycles of symphonies by Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms and Mahler, a contemporary repertoire focused especially on Venetian artists such as Nono and Maderna, ballets, and chamber music concerts.

Armenian Venice private tour

The purpose of this itinerary is to approach the Armenian culture and the historical presence in Venice, which became stable from the 12th century. The bond between the city and Armenians was based on diplomatic, commercial and cultural exchanges which reflect in monuments, buildings, churches, palaces, calli, campielli. The Armenian presence in the city is also confirmed by the names of some places. Afterward, with the assignment of the island of San Lazzaro (which was called “the Armenians’ island” in 1717) to the Mechitarists congregation, Venice became one of the main European centers of the Armenian culture.

An Armenian-Venetian guide will lead you to three of the most important places of Armenian memory in Venice. The itinerary will be carried out by an Armenian guide, while on the island you will be welcomed by a Mechitarist Father.

1 Hour private Gondola ride

Admire Venice from the most exclusive and breathtaking point of view: the water. Slide among centuries of history and picturesque views on a traditional Venetian gondola, an experience you will hardly forget. The gondola is one of the main symbols of Venice, as emblematic of the famous water city as mysterious in its origins. Not many people know that at the beginning this unique vessel was different from the one we can admire today, changing across time together with the city it is associated with. Of course, the history of the gondola is deeply bonded with the Venice one.

Considered one of the most beautiful and elegant boats on Earth, it is built through unique techniques and each part of it also has symbolic meanings. For example, its multi-pronged ferro, or prow, does have five or six “pettini”, symbolic of the six “sestieri” in which Venice is divided into. The function of this part made of iron is to balance gondoliere’s weigh and it has an “S” shape evoking the flow of the Canal Grande.

Not only elegance and beauty then, but a whole world also embodied in this boat nowadays the symbol of Venice. Let yourself experience in first person the gondola through this tour. An enchanting and relaxing way to enjoy the colours, lights, sights, charm and beauty of Venice. You will admire elegant bank-side palaces, unique bridges and breath the charming and magic atmosphere that only a town built on the water can give you. Can you imagine a better experience to share with the people you love? Probably difficult to find. Just take your smile and beloved one with you, the timeless beauty of Venice seen from the gondola will do the rest.

Excursions Greece,Zakynthos by Musement

Turtle Island Cruise

Fancy cruising Zante’s waters in search of its most famous residents – loggerhead sea turtles. These graceful creatures have been nesting on the island’s beaches for thousands of years but, sadly, they’re now a rare and endangered species. This is one of our TUI Collection excursions, which give you a local flavour of the destination while showcasing its unique, authentic and responsible values.

Cast out to sea and you’ll pass by the golden beaches of Vassilikos before sailing towards Marathonisi, a pine-clad islet nicknamed ‘Turtle Island’. The reason’s simple – one of its beaches is a favourite nesting site. Keep a look out for loggerheads and for dolphins, too.

Next, cruise to the Keri peninsula, passing its sea caves and lighthouse, and dropping anchor for a swim stop. Come ashore and there’s free time to explore the small village of Keri. You can shop for souvenirs, relax in a restaurant or hit the beach. On the return cruise there’s a chance to swim in a hidden bay and you may even spot some more turtles. What’s more, conservation group Archellon will be on board to tell you about their work.

The smuggler’s bay

The smuggler’s bay is a white pebble beach with a surprise – because here is the shipwreck of an alleged smuggler whose ship stranded here in 1980. This boat tour takes you along the coast to discover this famous bay and other secret bays, swim in the sea and enjoy the scenery.

After being picked up at the hotels, the bus takes you to Porto Vromi, the journey takes around 90 minutes before being welcomed on board a boat that is now heading towards the smugglers’ bay. You have about half an hour to enjoy the view before the imposing white cliffs emerge from the sea and reveal the view of the mysterious bay. The shipwreck can now be admired from the boat, you can also enjoy the landscape and take one or the other Insta selfie.

Next, your captain will anchor in a nearby bay and you will have time to swim in the turquoise water. On the way back to Porto Vromi you will discover the Stegnitis Bay and the Sugar Sea Caves – both places are so secret that they do not even appear on Google. Enjoy two more swim stops here and take some pictures.

Boat trip to the turtle island

Caretta-Caretta is the Latin name for the loggerhead turtle, an endangered species that you will get to know on this excursion. These elegantly swimming animals have been laying their eggs on the beaches of this island for thousands of years, but are unfortunately now threatened with extinction.

This boat tour takes us past the golden beaches of Vassilikos before heading for Marathonisi, a pine-covered island also known as the turtle island. The reason for this is obvious – one of its beaches is often used by the turtles as a breeding ground. With a little luck, you can spot some of these primeval creatures or see dolphins here in the sea.

We continue to the Keri peninsula along the sea caves and the lighthouse. Here is anchored for a swim break. Now we go ashore to explore the small village of Keri. You can look for souvenirs, relax in a restaurant, or linger on the beach. On the way back you can swim in a hidden bay and watch other turtles if necessary. The Archellon Conservation Group will also be on board to inform you about their work to protect turtles.

Full-day city tour in Hanoi

Although it is the modern-day capital of Vietnam, Hanoi still retains the mystery and charm of past centuries. Narrow lanes and traditional shophouses invite an exciting exploration by walking, while it’s many beautiful public spaces – lakes, parks, tree-lined boulevards, and monuments – give the city an air of elegance and harmony with nature unique among Asian capitals.

The Museum of Ethnology brings to life the astonishing ethnic diversity in Vietnam, with art and artifacts from the 54 different ethnic groups that inhabit the country. Inside the museum are detailed descriptions of minority groups, with examples of their traditional clothing and way of life. Outside are faithful reconstructions of traditional longhouses, cemeteries and other distinctive ethnic buildings.

Start the exploration of the vast Ho Chi Minh Memorial Complex with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum which contains the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh (closed Mondays, Fridays, and from 15 June to 18 August). View the outside of the Presidential Palace and then stroll through the park to the Ho Chi Minh Stilt House (closed on Monday afternoon) where Ho Chi Minh lived from 1958 until his final days in 1969. Preserved in the same condition as, during his life, it may be viewed through the windows.

Continue to the miniature 11th century One Pillar Pagoda which was rebuilt after being destroyed by the French in 1954. The Temple of Literature has a peaceful series of walled courtyards and graceful gateways, and this monument is one of the best-preserved examples of traditional Vietnamese architecture. Founded in 1070 and dedicated to Confucius, this was also the site of Vietnam’s first university. In one courtyard, giant stone tortoises bear stele on their backs, listing the accomplishments of graduating scholars.

Hoan Kiem Lake (Hoan Kiem means Lake of the Returned), is a lake in the historical center of the Hanoi capital. It is one of the major scenic spots in the city and serves as a focal point for its public life. Legend has it that King Le Loi handed a magic sword called Heaven’s Will which brought him victory in his revolt against the Chinese Ming dynasty back to the Golden Turtle God in the lake. The Tortoise Tower (Thap Rua) standing on a small island near the center of the lake is linked to the legend. The Ngoc Son Temple was erected in the 18th century. It honors the 13th -century military leader Tran Hung Dao who distinguished himself in the fight against the Yuan – Mongol invaders, Van Xuong, a scholar and Nguyen Van Sieu, a Confucian master and famous writer in charge of repairs made to the temple in 1864.

Jade Island is connected to the shore by the wooden red-painted Huc Bridge (The Huc, which means Morning Sunlight Bridge). The Old Quarter holds over a thousand years of history and remains one of Vietnam’s most lively and unusual places, where one can buy anything from a gravestone to silk pajamas. Explore by walking to the maze of back streets with fascination wonderment at every turn and there are endless things to buy from wool clothes, cosmetics, gold and silver jewelry, silk clothes and herbal medicines.

Continue walking to an old dim sum shop, a popular and bustling eatery in the neighborhood. Sit among the locals and sample the same breakfast they enjoy every day – an assortment of tasty dim sum with steamed dumplings, buns, and rolls. After a delicious breakfast, return to your hotel as the locals set off to begin their daily work.
